Who we are

Pegacow operates pegacow.com, where we sell framed wall art, stickers and other Pegacow gear. This policy covers information we handle through the site. Questions go to moo@pegacow.com.

What we collect

There are no Pegacow accounts, so there's no profile for us to build. We collect information in three ways:

• When you order. Your name, email address, shipping address, billing address and what you bought. Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout — your card number, CVC and expiry go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We can see the last four digits and the card brand on the resulting order record, nothing more.
• When you browse. Standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, timestamps) and privacy-friendly, cookie-free page analytics. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

Your cart lives in your own browser's local storage, on your device. It isn't sent anywhere until you start checkout, and clearing your browser data erases it.

What we do with it

We use your information to take payment, print and ship your order, email you confirmations and tracking, answer your questions, handle replacements and refunds, keep the site working and secure, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. That's the whole list.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own advertising.

Who we share it with

A few service providers have to see parts of your order for it to happen at all. Each one gets only what its job requires:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, order records would transfer with it, and this policy would continue to apply to them.

Emails you get from us

Order confirmations and shipping notifications are transactional — they're part of the order, so you can't opt out of them while an order is active. If we ever send marketing email, it will have an unsubscribe link, and using it stops the marketing without affecting your order emails.

Custom designs and the art studio

If you create a design in the Pegacow studio, the description you type is sent to OpenAI to generate the artwork, and the resulting image is stored on our server so it can be printed if you order it. Please don't put personal information, anyone's name, or anything sensitive into a design description. We rate-limit generation by IP address to keep costs sane; those counters are short-lived and aren't used to identify you.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for as long as we need them for support, returns, accounting and tax — generally seven years, which is what the tax rules expect. Server logs and analytics are kept for a much shorter period.

Your choices

Email moo@pegacow.com and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete what we aren't required to keep. We'll reply within 30 days and we won't treat you any differently for asking.

If you're in California, the CCPA gives you those rights explicitly, plus the right to know what categories of information we've collected and shared and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there's nothing to opt out of — but the request rights are yours regardless.

Children

Pegacow art is for everyone, but the shop isn't built for kids to use on their own: we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, payment is handled by a PCI-compliant processor, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfill orders. No system is perfect, so we don't promise absolute security — but we do promise not to hold data we have no reason to hold.

Where we operate

We ship to U.S. addresses only, and our providers process data in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be handled here.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
